Whether you are planning a full vacation or just a daytrip to Bald Head Island, you must stop by Mojo’s on the Harbor for some good food and the fabulous harbor atmosphere. With only six restaurants and a small wine bar on the island, your choices are somewhat limited. Two of the restaurants require either a full or temporary membership to get in the door. Mojo’s doesn’t require a membership and is just steps away from the ferry drop-off, making it easily accessible to everyone.

The restaurant’s location is phenomenal, providing diners with a commanding view of the entire marina. If the weather is nice, you must ask for an outside table. From there you can see the yachts and sailboats easing into and out of their slips in the calm waters of the harbor.

We were very fortunate on our latest trip. The sun was shining bright in a brilliant blue sky and we scored an outside table with lots of shade. The cool ocean breeze, the picturesque view, and the quiet sounds of a small port set us up with an ideal seaside atmosphere for lunch.

For starters, we ordered the Hot Lobster & Artichoke Dip served with grilled pita points. The flavors were a delicious combination especially with the warm bread. More lobster would have been nice and the artichokes would have been better had they been chopped up a bit more to make them into manageable bite-sized portions.

Another starter, we tried were the Hushpuppies with Cinnamon Honey Butter. Crunchy, warm, and tasty are three words to describe this delightful appetizer. This is one you must try.

My husband got the Shrimp Po’Boy Sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and remoulade. He was completely happy. It came with a generous amount of shrimp, good flavor, and satisfied his craving for a good meal.

I chose one of the specials, Corvina Sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and remoulade. Corvina has a mild flavor similar to sea bass. The delicate fish just melted in my mouth. On a couple of bites, I tasted a little too much bread and not enough fish. Once again, more fish would have been nice.

We loved the harbor view, the seaside atmosphere, and our attentive server. And the good food! We highly recommend this restaurant, but perhaps for our next visit we would try a few different choices from their menu.
